Haystack Monitoring and Fire Mitigation
Haystack Monitoring and Fire prevention
It only takes one hot bale to destroy the whole stack - or worse!
Ok, you know that to reduce the risk of a haystack fire you need to keep the hay dry and cool. As simple as this advice is, the reality of achieving this is not so simple. Busy farming operations are short on man-hours as it is, manually checking the temperature of hay bales daily is often not practically possible. Even despite the best efforts of careful hay preparation, there may be rogue bales whose moisture level could be at a dangerous level. Thankfully now there is a reliable and practical solution.
Introducing HAYTECH. The HAYTECH system is designed to monitor the temperature of hay bales during storage. Use the system to help prevent hay fires from spontaneous combustion and improve hay quality management.
How does the system work?
The wireless HAYTECH probes are placed inside the round or square hay bales at the time of storage.
The probes send the temperature data through the base station to your secure Quanturi service account.
Check the temperature data anywhere and anytime. Receive alerts in case of danger and in time to help prevent hay fires
✅ Real time temperature monitoring
✅ Alert SMS messages
✅ Potential to reduce insurance
✅ Increase farm safety
✅ Durable, weatherproof probes
✅ long battery life in probes
✅ Probes are easy to spot in bales
✅ Increase Productivity
Install in 3 easy steps
The probes of the HAYTECH system measure the hay temperature and you can see the temperature status on the www.Quanturi.app monitoring application. In case of any overheating, you will receive an SMS warning and alert messages on your mobile phone.
NB The system requires an Internet connection to Quanuri Cloud Server
See all the sensors on one glance. The Sensors are displayed with their ID and the latest measurement with a timestamp. Hottest sensors are displayed on top by default. You can change the order by clicking on the column titles.
Place the wireless probes in the bales you want to monitor.
That's it. You can check on your hay whenever you want from your phone, tablet or computer. If temperatures start rising, you will receive an SMS alert.
We know most haysheds and storage areas have limited or no power, this is not a problem we have cost-effective solar kits to power the base station and communications equipment. You may also want to add a security camera at the location as well! You might also be wondering about an internet connection? We have also got you covered with a range of options including long-range Wi-Fi.
Monitoring Options
Quanturi FREE
Quanturi.app is our web service for visualizing the measurement data from the wireless probes. Here you will access an instant overview over all your HAYTECH probes and will be able to set the alert levels that will trigger the SMS alarms. Quanturi FREE includes the web interface and the SMS alarms - all for free!
Quanturi PREMIUM
PREMIUM (the most popular option) is an affordable service plan that allows you to follow the temperature history of your probes, change the display name of each probe, make notes and place your probes in a handy virtual storage locator to find them easier in case of danger.

Storage Locator
Record the sensor positions with the Storage locator while stacking the bales. If you get a heat alert, you can easily locate the overheated bale from the stack for further protective actions.
TEMPERATURE HISTORY
View the measurement data in a graph. It’s important to know the history of the hay you produce to regulate and proof quality. You can display the history for the time period of one day, one week or one month.
Communications Options
We have options for solar or mains powered Long-Range Wi-Fi (Not sure what we mean by Long Range Wi-Fi? click here to learn more), 4g or if you have an internet connection close to your storage area then you may not need any additional connectivity equipment.
